“Art as Social Practice Roundtable”, Gulf Coast Connections Conference

From Feb. 6-8, I participated in the Gulf Coast Connections Conference held at the Tremont Hotel in Galveston. This annual conference is hosted by the Center for Environmental Studies, Rice University. On Saturday, Feb. 8 from 1:30-2:45pm, I was one of the panelist for the discussion, “Art as Social Practice Roundtable”, with other bio-artist Brandon Ballengee and Karla Klay of Artist Boat.

This conference is free and open to the public. In addition to hosting other topics such as “Disaster/Recovery”, Galveston History” & “Creativity, Design and Interdisciplinary Work in the Gulf”, there are free Saturday morning field trips guided by Artist Boats Coastal Heritage Preserve, Turtle Island Restoration Network, and NOAA’s Coral Lab.   – more info details in slides -
